Staying Connected in 2026
Right off the bat let me tell you there’s a Pop Up Reunion planned on March 20th so if you’re on Long Island or will be braving a Long Island visit this month, this is for you!
The location is Sonoma Grill, 1730 North Ocean Avenue, Holbrook, NY (Ramada Plaza off the L.I.E. exit 63) and it’s starting at 3:30pm and lasting as long as you like.
You can thank Rich Ingardia’s visit for this one. He’s been living on the west coast but his son has (can you believe it) moved to New York! Rich emailed me hoping for a meet up while he was here and Barbara Lachick Dworkin and Marion Davie Bernholz are making it happen!
There’s no commitment for an RSVP, you’ll pay your own way and arrive when you can and stay as long as you like. We posted this on our facebook page and if you want, you can always post “I’ll be there” in comments.

Mini Reunions
With the holidays just past, another luncheon was arranged by Barbara Lachick Dworkin for the end of January at Manninos in Commack. Notice the boots, scarves and coats? We all know they got hammered shortly after with a deep freeze, then a blizzard and snow, snow, snow!
Meanwhile, in Stuart, Florida, we hit below 32 degrees for two nights in a row which literally had iguanas falling from trees and Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Control setting up collection stations for dead as a doornail iguanas.

Marilyn left the next day for Orlando for a family visit and on her very last day in town, Karen Madafarri Theise and I drove up to see her at Disney Springs. Karen lives almost directly across from me on Florida’s west coast and it takes us about the same 2 1/2 hours to get there. I asked my sister Bonnie to join me on the drive, she went to school with Roberta Fox.
We met Marilyn and Steve Rose behind Planet Hollywood and I promised everyone a tour of Disney Resorts via Disney World transportation.
When visiting Disney with my family over the years, we always had fun doing this anytime we stayed at a Disney Resort for our last hurrah. Back in the day you could go pool crashing at other resorts. Those days are over, the pools are all hotel specific keyed access now but you can still hop around the resorts to enjoy the magic.
We got to ride the monorail through the Contemporary Resort, took a boat to the Magic Kingdom, sat overlooking the lake at the Wilderness Lodge and had a late lunch at the Grand Floridian and a quick trip to the Polynesian Resort. It was a full day with lots of laughs.

Traveling Classmates
Apparently another trip is being planned by the lunching ladies, this time to Texas!
I’ve heard from several single and widowed classmates that want to travel but are not keen on doing it alone. Some people want a cruise partner to share a cabin or to share a hotel room. If you like this idea, let me know, make some suggestions and we’ll see what happens.
Spring Ahead!
I’m sure all my friends up north are happy to see at least one sign of spring coming when the clocks move forward for an extra hour of daylight on Sunday and all the while praying March goes out like a lamb!
