"Christmas 2023"

🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅

Merry Christmas!

It's the holiday season and Santa Claus is on TV along with all my favorite holiday movies.  I try to watch them all while decorating, cooking and wrapping and I'm in the thick of it now!

I still love the oldies but goodies; It's a Wonderful Life (my all time favorite), White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street.  Not that old but so special for this baby boomer, A Christmas Story!  I've got some other favorites in my channel surfing, TiVo storage and Netflix and Prime searching including The Christmas Chronicles (love, love, Kurt Russell's rocking jail scene) and Chevy Chase in A Christmas Vacation. I have a squirrel hidden in my own tree :)

In other news, my Dad worked hard on his daily rehab exercises after I left him at Thanksgiving and was able to take a quick trip by car to Washington DC with his wife driving, navigating and schlepping all his gear to tour the White House at Christmas and visit the Smithsonian Museum of Native Americans with his trusty scooter and Inogen portable oxygen machine.  Meanwhile, my Stepdad here in Florida landed in the hospital this month, got diagnosed with CHF and then moved on to rehab. We busted him out yesterday, just in time for Christmas so we are all grateful for that.

With my parents age and health moving to DEFCON 5, I announced my retirement in July and finally hired a replacement so the training and transition also happened this month and I just need to rebuild the New Shoots Bamboo Nursery website and I'm done!  Merry Christmas to me!

"I'm Dreaming of A White Christmas"

It's going to be seventy degrees here in Florida on Christmas Eve and it's always a challenge to get into the Christmas spirit but after thirty years in Florida we've managed to fill the Christmas in New York void with lots of lights!  We've got a Boat Parade tonight we're going to try and attend on the causeway, lots of holiday events that started before Thanksgiving this year and some incredible festive light displays.  The one below is the largest in our area, The Robert and Elsa Eustice Mansion in Jensen Beach.

And finally, my Christmas Wish is to see you all at our reunion next year!

Best wishes to you and yours for a very Merry Christmas and all the joys of the season!
